Domaine des Fretilleres sits on the border of Bordeaux and Bergarac with vineyards in both. The name Fretilleres comes from the local flower, only found in this area.
They are 4th generation family winemakers with an Irish connection. Anita Ryan from Monasterevin in County Kildare married Sylvain Rigal, who is taking over the Winemaking from his father. Anita plays an active part in growing the grapes and running the vineyard.
The red is a deliciously juicy blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (typical of Bordeaux)
The white is a lovely Sauvignon Blanc in a dry yet easy to drink style.
